Raptors Dealt Costly Loss To Celtics After Latest Collapse

TORONTO (CP) — As unhappy as Dwane Casey was with Toronto’s loss to the Boston Celtics on Wednesday, the coach may have been just as disappointed with the welcome back Andrea Bargnani received from Raptors fans.

The Italian big man played for the first time since missing 26 games with an elbow injury, and checked in to a mixed reception of boos and cheers in Toronto’s 99-95 loss to the Boston Celtics.

Numerous fans stood and gave two thumbs-down signs.

TORONTO (CP) — Chris Bosh lifted the Miami Heat to victory over his old team on Sunday _ and then he thanked Toronto fans for helping him do so.

Bosh, who was received by a chorus of boos during team introductions, scored 13 of his 28 points in the fourth quarter as the Heat defeated the Raptors 100-85 on Sunday for their 10th consecutive victory over Toronto.

Raptors Can’t Convert Late In Close Loss To Hawks

atl_lucas_013013

ATLANTA (CP) — Toronto Raptors head coach Dwane Casey has seen enough when it comes to costly missed calls late in the game.

Casey was livid Wednesday night after officials made no call on apparent contact to DeMar DeRozan under the basket in the final seconds of Toronto’s 93-92 loss to the Atlanta Hawks.

“I’m tired of this,” Casey said. “I’m tired of losing games because of missed calls at the end of the game. I know the league’s going to come down on me for this, but I don’t care. ...

Raptors Defence Proves Porous In Home Loss To Warriors

gsw_300dd_012813

TORONTO (AP) — Aaron Gray’s big night wasn’t enough to rescue the flu-ravaged Toronto Raptors.

The centre had a career-high 22 points Monday, but the Golden State Warriors pulled away late for a 114-102 victory over Toronto.

“They’re a much improved team, we feel like we can compete with teams like that, but tonight we just couldn’t stop anybody,” said Gray, who also had 10 rebounds. “They scored way too many points, that’s not the identity we want to have.

“It’s hard to beat teams when they score 114.”
