After a magical start in Orlando where the Raptors went into the half with the largest advantage on the road this season, those 19 points disappeared, well, like ‘poof’. The Raptors did however escape with their third straight win and a season sweep of the Magic. #VictoryBaby

Throwback Thursday: Amir The Young Vet

Image-57

Amir Johnson, who recently celebrated his 500th career game as a Toronto Raptor and is playing for his second NBA team at just 26 years old, continues to embrace both the claw and the city of Toronto.

Johnson loves the team, he loves the city and isn’t afraid to show it. Hustle and heart, simple as that. This season, he’s quickly been climbing the ladder for most blocks in franchise history (as of this post he sits second behind Chris Bosh) and has received the nickname the ‘Doctor of Denial’. He’s ...

The #RTZ feed is the place to be every Raptors Game Day if you’re tapped into the twittersphere. It connects fans watching from their couchside seats at home and their courtside seats at the arena. Live-tweeting about the players high tops and sick hops, it’s fun to watch the story come together from all angles.

Lorde, the 17-year-old Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter from New Zealand, jumped on the live tweeting bandwagon recently at a Chicago Bulls game. A newbie to the NBA atmosphere, her quirky play-by-play commentary had both basketball ...

Throwback Thursday: Raptors At The Big Dance

dckentucky

You’ve pondered over predictions, filled out your bracket and mapped out the days that you’re calling in sick to work. The madness has begun! March Madness, that is.

Besides Amir (who was the last NBA player to be selected straight out of highschool) and both Jonas and Nando whose pre-NBA days were Europe-based, let’s take a look back at which Raptors soaked up the most madness during their college runs.

Put me in, coach…

Sweet 16:
John Salmons – Miami (1999-2000)
Chuck Hayes – Kentucky (2001-2002)
Kyle Lowry – Villanova (2004-2005)
Landry Fields – Stanford (2007-2008)
Dwight Buycks ...
