Throwback Thursday: And The Award Goes To…

Image-53

As we hurdle over the halfway mark of January 2014, the deja vu feeling of a similar month in Raptors history is already poking around.

January 2007: The Toronto Raptors were the talk of the league as the underdogs continued to shake off a sloppy start to the season. They finished the month at .500, stood atop the Atlantic Division and had a chance of making the playoffs for the first time since the ’01/’02 season. Sound familiar?

If that wasn’t positive enough, the Raptors became the first team in […]

#RTZ Digital Rundown: Raptors vs. Bucks

Anticipating a good night of basketball could take the Mondays out of a Monday, especially if the Raptors could continue their winning ways. And that’s what they did. A 22-point spread between them and the Bucks when the final buzzer sounded knocked the Raptors into third in the Eastern Conference. Now that’s the good kind of manic Monday.

Throwback Thursday: The .500 Mark

Toronto Raptors v Orlando Magic

January 1, 2014: As countdown confetti was being swept up and the calendars flipped, the Raptors played the first New Year’s Day home game in franchise history. A sold out hometown crowd entered Air Canada Centre and 2014 with new enthusiasm for their team. Another tough challenge lay ahead for the Raptors with the league-leading Indiana Pacers in town. And once again, in front of dropped-jaw amazement, the Raptors stole the unexpected win with a 95-82 finish. They had won six of their last eight games. This one took them to […]
