Updates Before The Raptors’ Final Preseason Game

The Raptors were ready for a physical battle against the Grizzlies on Wednesday and they delivered with a lopsided 108-72 preseason win at ACC on Wednesday. But there’s been a toll to pay on the injury front, with a mixed bag of results.

First is Kyle Lowry. The point guard was already having his best game of the preseason in the third quarter on Wednesday before he was forced out with an injury to his left ring finger.

Jack Of All Trades Julyan Stone Keeps Rolling

His ability to guard fellow point guards as well as shooting guards and small forwards is earning Julyan Stone a look at Raptors training camp.

Maybe, it’s just a crack, but the window for a spot on the Raptors roster remains open for Julyan Stone.

The 24-year-old point guard is an intriguing prospect. Stone played sparingly over two years with the Denver Nuggets but caught the eye of Masai Ujiri who, you might have heard, left the Nuggets for the Raptors this summer.

Stone seemed ready to sign with Toronto during the summer but an undisclosed injury scuttled the deal. He earned 24 minutes in playing time in Wednesday’s 99-97 win over Boston and that contest showcased ...

Raptor Hopeful Morais Knows He Has Already Won

He had to be a man when he was a boy. Now, at 27, Raptors hopeful Carlos Morais likens himself to a kid in grade school.

Morais, a six-four-shooting guard was credited with being the first Angolan to appear in an NBA game when he played the final three minutes of the Raptors preseason loss to Minnesota, Wednesday.

Kindness Follows Andre Boothe All The Way To Raptors’ Huddle

There is a heavy black curtain that separates the rest of the world from the Toronto Raptors when they practice, as they did Thursday, on the glistening  floor of the Air Canada Centre.

When the players and coaches are ready, someone pulls back the curtain and the rest of the world, represented by the sports media, pours in.

Behind the black curtain, yesterday a giant stood for a few moments among the Raptors.

His name is Andre Boothe. He is 21-years-old and a lifetime Whitby resident.
