TORONTO (CP) – Nick Young had 29 points while Pau Gasol added 22 to lead the short-handed Los Angeles Kings past the Toronto Raptors 112-106 on Sunday afternoon at the Air Canada Centre.

The Lakers (16-25) rallied from deficits of 19 and 17 points for their second straight win but only their third in their past 15 contests.

DeMar DeRozan had 23 points while Kyle Lowry added 21 for Toronto (20-19), which had its six-game home win streak halted. The Raptors also lost the chance for their first-ever season sweep of […]

Game Preview: Raptors vs Lakers

Preview | Game Notes

Kyle Lowry could very well deserve his first All-Star selection after his recent hot streak has helped the Toronto Raptors take control in the weak Atlantic Division.

Lowry will look to help the Raptors extend their home winning streak to seven games when they host the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday.

Playing his best basketball of the season of late, Lowry is averaging 18.6 points and 8.1 assists since Dec. 28, helping Toronto (20-18) go 8-3 in that span and move four games ahead of second-place Brooklyn in the […]

Raptors Streak Past Wolves 94-89 At Home

RapsWolves-Win-01172014

Box Score | Photo Gallery | Post-Game Reaction & Highlights

TORONTO (CP) – Kyle Lowry and the Toronto Raptors made up for a sub-par road performance by continuing their mastery of the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Lowry had 24 points to lead Toronto to a 94-89 victory before an Air Canada Centre sellout crowd of 19,800, the Raptors’ 10th straight home win over Minnesota and 17th in 18 head-to-head meetings. More importantly, it came just two nights after a disappointing 88-83 road loss to the Boston Celtics.

“It was a bounce-back game for us and we needed it,” Lowry […]

Raptors Inspired By Strongest Fans During SickKids Visit

sickkids3

By Akasha Di Tomasso – Raptors.com

On Thursday, January 16th, the Toronto Raptors spent a few hours with some of their smallest but strongest fans.

The team paid their annual visit to SickKids Hospital in downtown Toronto, a long-standing team tradition. With many new faces on the team this season, it would be the first time that many of the Raptors had a chance to visit the hospital.

The day began with Susie Petro, Child Life Specialist at SickKids, describing the visit to the players. As Susie spoke, the motivation for the day […]

Game Preview: Raptors vs. Timberwolves

Preview | Game Notes | Camo Collection at Real Sports

The Toronto Raptors will try to atone for a subpar performance when they return home from a brief trip. A matchup with the Minnesota Timberwolves might help (TSN, TSN 1050, Get Tickets).

The Raptors will attempt to add to their dominance over the Timberwolves with another high-scoring performance at Air Canada Centre as they seek a sixth consecutive home win Friday night.

Toronto (19-18) averaged 108.0 points and made 43.0 percent of its 3-pointers while sweeping a three-game homestand, but couldn’t carry its […]

Throwback Thursday: And The Award Goes To…

Image-53

As we hurdle over the halfway mark of January 2014, the deja vu feeling of a similar month in Raptors history is already poking around.

January 2007: The Toronto Raptors were the talk of the league as the underdogs continued to shake off a sloppy start to the season. They finished the month at .500, stood atop the Atlantic Division and had a chance of making the playoffs for the first time since the ’01/’02 season. Sound familiar?

If that wasn’t positive enough, the Raptors became the first team in […]
