Latest “Jam Session” Helps Acy Find His Way In April

In a final stretch that has been designated for development of the youngest Raptors, Quincy Acy is beginning to make his mark.

The rugged rookie forward out of Baylor returned from his second stint with NBA D-League’s Bakersfield Jam on March 26th and in April, he’s seen his numbers with the Raptors rise to season-high averages of 6.6 points and three rebounds in just under 17 minutes per game.

Valanciunas Could Be Back Friday

The play of rookie Jonas Valanciunas has been a bright spot for the Raptors.

Even when he isn’t around people are talking about Jonas Valanciunas.

Valanciunas missed practice yesterday to have his injured neck examined as the Raptors prepared for their Friday date against Chicago.

Valanciunas hurt his neck Tuesday against the Bulls but Raptors coach Dwane Casey said it’s possible the Lithuanian rookie could be back in the lineup in time for Friday’s rematch.

“It’s not as bad as we first thought,” Casey said. “Right now he’s still in the soft brace. He’ll be a game-time decision for Friday but if it’s anywhere close we won’t ...

Raptors Build Big Lead & Hang On For Road Win Over Bulls

CHICAGO (CP) — There wasn’t much Rudy Gay could do except shrug off the collision and hope his teammate wasn’t seriously injured.

The fact that Jonas Valanciunas left the court on a gurney with a neck injury sure did take the shine off a wild win, though.

CHI_4_040913

Rookie centre Jonas Valanciunas suffered a whiplash-type injury in the final seconds of the Raptors’ 101-98 road win over the Bulls on Tuesday night and was sent to Chicago’s Rush Presbyterian Hospital for further precautionary testing.
