Full Practice For Rudy Gay On Tuesday

A return to the lineup for Raptors forward Rudy Gay against the Hawks at ACC on Wednesday, isn’t assured, but seems a lot more probable after the forward was a full participant at Tuesday’s practice.

Gay, who has missed three of his last 11 games due to back soreness, will be evaluated on Wednesday and according to head coach Dwane Casey “hopefully he’s ready to go and can contribute.”

Watch more from Tuesday’s practice, with Amir Johnson and Terrence Ross on lessons learned as his rookie season winds down.

Jamaal Magloire returns to Eastern Commerce to talk about his days in the NBA.

The first thing you notice when you go back to your old school is how small everything seems.

Now imagine the feeling when you are nearly seven-feet tall.

That’s the scenario facing Raptors basketball development consultant and community ambassador Jamaal Magloire.

Jamaal Magloire returns to Eastern Commerce to talk about his days in the NBA.

On Wednesday the 34-year-old will be returning to his old high school, Eastern Commerce, to meet and speak with 350 students from Grades 7-11.

Gay May Still Play And More From Monday’s Practice

Rudy Gay’s season may not be over yet.

Head coach Dwane Casey acknowledged over the weekend that shutting down the high-scoring small forward could be discussed if Gay’s jammed back didn’t respond well to therapy. Consider the early response a positive one as Gay participated in Monday’s practice at ACC and any talk of ending his season was off the table.

“Rudy went through practice today, what he could, and the back is loosening up, so there’s going to be no talk of shutting him down and it’s just going to be ...

Anderson’s Career Night Not Enough As Raptors Edged By Knicks

rapsknicks032313_1

TORONTO – Alan Anderson hit a career high but wasn’t in the mood for celebrating Friday.

The Raptors journeyman poured in 20 of his career-high 35 points in the third quarter Friday night, but Toronto dropped a 99-94 decision to the Knicks for their third straight loss.

“It feels really good personally but when you can’t get the win, you wish you did a little bit more,” Anderson said afterward.

The Raptors didn’t have long to lament the loss. Both teams then departed the Air Canada Centre for the airport to head ...

They don’t quite know the details but Amir Johnson and DeMar DeRozan insist they are family.

“We haven’t put it out there before but we are definitely related,” DeRozan was saying this week.

“It’s true,” said Johnson. “Cousins. By marriage.”

The particulars of the connection are a little hazy. Neither DeRozan or Johnson are quite clear as to who married whose whomever but both men are enthusiastic about the idea and keen to get confirmation from family elders soon.

That two members of the same team are ...
