Raptors Ready To Push Forward Largely Unchanged

What you see is what you get.

With just a minor tweak at back-up point guard, the Toronto Raptors are moving ahead with a pat hand.

Yesterday in the shadow of the NBA trade deadline the club added 27-year-old Sebastian Telfair from the Phoenix Suns in exchange for a conditional second-rounder and centre Hamed Haddadi.

Haddadi is a holdover from the deal that brought Rudy Gay to Toronto from Memphis.

Telfair is on an expiring contract but nicely fills a need for a pass-inclined point guard behind starter Kyle Lowry and shot-happy John Lucas […]

#RossJustDunked

When Terrence Ross was asked shortly after he was drafted eighth overall last season what Raptors fans could expect from him, the soft-spoken swingman simply answered “highlights”.

It didn’t take long for him to start living up to that guarantee. Ross was soaring right from the Las Vegas Summer League, showcasing a unique blend of explosiveness, hangtime and style.

We knew early on that Ross deserved a spot in the 2013 Sprite Slam Dunk Contest, but we needed to get that word out and from there, #LetRossDunk was born. It started as […]

Raptors Can’t Win Defensive Slugfest Against Grizzlies

MEM_gay_drive300

TORONTO (CP) — Rudy Gay’s former team showed it still knows him better than his new team does.

Gay was held to just 13 points and three assists as the Toronto Raptors fell 88-82 to the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday.

“It was emotional, a little bit, it was good to see the guys,” said Gay, “but at the end of the day it was one of those things where we still thought we could win.”

Raptors head coach Dwane Casey said he felt sorry for Gay, who entered the game averaging 21.1 […]

Raptors Top Wizards To Win Fifth Straight

dd_300_021913

Washington — This was a timeless victory for the streaking Toronto Raptors. At least it seemed that way on the floor.

“It felt like I was in high school again,” DeMar DeRozan said. “I think we got a shot clock violation — I couldn’t even find the shot clock.”

Playing with an improvised scoreboard, horn, game clock and 24-second clock because of a malfunction in the Verizon Center’s scoring system, the Raptors beat the Washington Wizards 96-88 Tuesday night.

DeRozan and Rudy Gay scored 24 points apiece, and Kyle Lowry had 11 […]

It’s all about YOU.

NJN_16_042612

Amidst the cold and winter blues, I always believe in having something to look forward to or to celebrate, to get through the damp days. So here’s today’s list:

The rook rolls home with the trophy.
Going for “#VictoryBaby” numero five in Washington.
A very happy second half of the NBA season!

As we get back to the regularly scheduled program and business commences on the road tonight for the team, the leftovers from the sunny all star weekend in the south are still dripping on our minds. Oh, what a flight! I’m not […]
