Top Tweets From A Valentine’s Day Heartbreaker

Our #RTZ Tweet of the Night from @Iminfantasyland pretty much nailed it, huh?

Love was in the air on Valentine’s Day at Air Canada Centre on Tuesday — with a large (and loud) portion of that affection directed at Knicks point guard sensation Jeremy Lin.

We’ll leave it to other corners to remark on the latest chapter of an admittedly fantastic story in Lin. But there were other reasons to feel the love at ACC last night.

How about some for head coach Dwane Casey, who received his 2010-11 championship ring from his ...

Jeremy Lin story: boffo on Broadway and beyond.

Jeremy Lin has become a media star in New York and the lesser media centres scattered about the planet.

Jeremy Lin says God’s fingerprints are all over his story and if that’s true you have to admit He certainly took his time.

“A miracle from God is the way I would describe it,” Lin told a packed news conference at Air Canada Centre prior to tonight’s game between the Raptors and his New York Knicks.

“So much has to be put into place and a lot of it is out of my ...

Valanciunas Is “Young Men’s Player Of The Year”

The honours continue to pile up for Raptors 2011 first-round pick Jonas Valanciunas, who was named the 2011 FIBA Europe Young Men’s Player of the Year by FIBA Europe on Monday.

Valanciunas, 20,  came out on top in votes amongst an expert panel of voters to earn the award for the best European player aged 22 and under and finished second in a fan vote to earn the distinction.

It’s hard to disagree based on a calendar year that saw Valanciunas earn MVP honours and help propel Lithuania to gold at the ...

Top Tweets From An Wild Afternoon At ACC

LAL_calderon300_021212

It was an absolute roller coaster of an afternoon at ACC on Sunday, which featured another awful start from the home side, an unlikely spark from Jamaal Magloire, Jose Calderon going supernova for a career-high 30 points, quiet Kobe, airball Kobe, a Raptors fourth-quarter comeback, killer Kobe, a devastating five-second violation, another last shot opportunity for a win, but ultimately a 94-92 loss.

I leave it to @jaypresident with our #RTZ Tweet of the Night to sum it more effectively in less than 140 characters:

Top 20 #RTZ  Tweets – Raptors vs. ...

A Nickname With Porpoise…

Andrea Bargnani remains sidelined indefinitely with a left calf strain, but head coach Dwane Casey did give an update on his progress before the Raptors hosted the Lakers at ACC on Sunday — including a new moniker for his leading scorer.

“His new nickname is Flipper,” said Casey. “He’s doing a lot of pool work and trying to get his calf going. He’s working hard on it every day. I think they’re going to try and step it up in the next week or so as far as getting more weight ...

Raptors Break Through Against Boston

In a 86-74 Toronto win that many will chalk up to Celtics’ fatigue, the undermanned Raptors showed some distinct swagger — particularly in the fourth quarter — against their division rivals on Friday.

The result was possibly the home side’s most surprising of the season given Boston’s lengthy domination of the series, the Raptors’ recent play, not to mention key injuries to Jerryd Bayless and Andrea Bargnani. But then you get fans like @RyanJHTurvey, who offered up this near-perfect prediction before tip-off :
