Raptors Set Roster For Opening Night

The Toronto Raptors announced Wednesday their roster for tonight’s regular season opener against the Boston Celtics at Air Canada Centre (7 p.m. TSN2/Sportsnet 590 The FAN). In accordance with league rules, all teams were required to reduce their training camp rosters to a maximum of 15 players.

The Raptors finished the 2013 preseason with a 6-1 mark.

Toronto returns nine players who ended last season with the team. Newcomers to the roster are D.J. Augustin (Indiana), Dwight Buycks (Gravelines/French Pro A League), Austin Daye (Memphis/Detroit), Tyler Hansbrough (Indiana), Steve Novak (New York) and Julyan Stone (Denver).

The upcoming campaign marks the Raptors’ 19th season in the NBA. They sport a 9-9 record in season openers. Wednesday will mark the third time Toronto has started the season against Boston (1-1).

The Raptors visit the Atlanta Hawks on Friday and Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday before returning to Air Canada Centre on Tuesday to play host to the two-time defending champion Miami Heat.
