Landry Fields Update

The Toronto Raptors announced Monday forward-guard Landry Fields will miss tonight’s game versus Detroit to receive follow-up testing on his right elbow. Fields underwent ulnar nerve transposition surgery November 14 to address compression/entrapment in his right elbow.

Fields will be seen by Dr. Vernon Williams and Dr. Steve Shin at the Kerlan-Jobe Clinic in Los Angeles.

Acy Recalled From Bakersfield Jam

The Toronto Raptors announced Tuesday rookie forward Quincy Acy has been recalled from the Bakersfield Jam of the NBA Development League.

Acy was reassigned to the Jam on March 4. He appeared in 10 games, averaging 13.1 points, 8.6 rebounds and 30.4 minutes. He posted highs of 17 points at Erie on March 9 and 12 rebounds on three occasions.

Andrea Bargnani Injury Update

The Toronto Raptors announced Wednesday that forward Andrea Bargnani is expected to be sidelined for the remainder of the 2012-13 season with an avulsion sprain of the right elbow. This injury is not related to his previous right elbow injury that sidelined him for 26 games (December 12 – February 3).

Bargnani left at the 3:08 mark in the first quarter March 8 against the Los Angeles Lakers and did not return. He appeared in 14 of 15 games prior to this injury, including four straight starts (March 2-8).

Acy Reassigned To Bakersfield Jam

The Toronto Raptors announced Monday they have reassigned forward Quincy Acy to the Bakersfield Jam of the NBA Development League. Acy will continue to be included on the Raptors’ roster and will be placed on the team’s inactive list.

This is Acy’s second stint with the Jam this season. He appeared in three games from December 6-10, averaging 12.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 21.7 minutes. He posted highs of 18 points, five rebounds and 23 minutes in his debut December 7 at Reno.

Raptors Acquire Telfair From Suns For Haddadi, Pick

The Toronto Raptors announced Thursday they have acquired veteran point guard Sebastian Telfair from the Phoenix Suns in exchange for centre Hamed Haddadi and a protected second-round draft pick in 2014.

New Security Measures For NBA Games

Security Changes to Air Canada Centre:

Effective this year, the NBA is requiring all venues to perform handwand searches at all Toronto Raptors home games beginning after the All-Star Break (Feb. 15-17). This change will affect everyone that enters Air Canada Centre on a gameday. We encourage you to get to all remaining Raptors games early to prevent any delays entering the arena.

Terrence Ross Selected For The Sprite Slam Dunk

The NBA announced Thursday that rookie forward Terrence Ross (@T_DotFlight31) has been selected to participate in the Sprite Slam Dunk on All-Star Saturday Night presented by State Farm. Ross is the fifth Raptor invited to participate in the event, joining Vince Carter (2000), Tracy McGrady (2000), Jamario Moon (2008) and DeMar DeRozan (2010 and 2011). This year’s contest will take place Saturday, February 16 at the Toyota Center in Houston and will be broadcasted on TSN2 and TNT beginning at 8:30 p.m. (ET).

Raptors Acquire Gay And Haddadi From Grizzlies In Three-Team Deal

The Toronto Raptors announced Wednesday they have acquired forward Rudy Gay and centre Hamed Haddadi from the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for guard Jose Calderon, forward Ed Davis, a second-round draft choice in 2013 and cash considerations. The Grizzlies traded Calderon to the Detroit Pistons for forwards Austin Daye and Tayshaun Prince.
