Raptors Announce 2012 Preseason Schedule

The Toronto Raptors announced Thursday a seven-game preseason schedule featuring four contests at Air Canada Centre. As previously announced, the Raptors will return to Montreal as part of the NBA Canada Series to face the New York Knicks on October 19. The Knicks and Raptors sold out the Bell Centre on October 22, 2010.

The Raptors will open preseason play October 8 at Air Canada Centre with a visit from perennial Spanish power Real Madrid. This marks the return of a European club to Toronto for preseason action after a three-season absence. The Raptors played host to Panathinaikos (Greece) in 2003, Benetton (Italy) in 2004, Maccabi (Israel) in 2005 and 2006, Zalgris Kaunas (Lithuania) in 2007 and CSKA Moscow (Russia) in 2008. The Raptors and Real Madrid met in Madrid, Spain in 2007 with Real Madrid winning, 104-103.

The Raptors will also play host to Detroit, Washington and Milwaukee at Air Canada Centre and have road contests at Detroit and Memphis.
