The centre had a career-high 22 points Monday, but the Golden State Warriors pulled away late for a 114-102 victory over Toronto.

“They’re a much improved team, we feel like we can compete with teams like that, but tonight we just couldn’t stop anybody,” said Gray, who also had 10 rebounds. “They scored way too many points, that’s not the identity we want to have.

“It’s hard to beat teams when they score 114.”

The Wrap: Holiday Hitlist, Half Court Shots and a Very Happy Birthday

Picture 2

With the team on the tail end of their west coast swing, the social capabilities of the interweb have been keeping us all in one place, many of us staying up past our bedtime, maybe addicted to the high of the back and forth battles or the fourth quarter rattles. I am. And undoubtedly because the #RTZ crew isn’t going anywhere.

It has been a rock ‘n roll, roadie. After Pops read me the latest Raptors buzz over morning coffee yesterday morning, (post script opinions included), I conquered the ...

DET_1_022212

Wednesday’s win over the Pistons at ACC brought the Raptors brought a little validation after days of prep time and with the presence of an unexpected restricted free agent, might have hinted at some change on the horizon for the 10-23 club.

On the floor, the Raptors looked every bit the more rested, focused team. Their willingness to share the ball (30 assists on 40 made field goals), ability to execute offensively (52.6% shooting from the floor) and a renewed commitment to defence helped them build a big lead before hanging ...

Raptors Prepare For A Season Unlike Any Other

Leandro Barbosa touches his head. Then he taps a spot on his chest directly above his heart.

“It’s going to take both,” he says.

Media Day brought the first public viewing of the 2011-2012 Raptors and it will be a regular season like no other.

The Raptors will play 66 games in an astonishing 113 days. What begins Boxing Day in Cleveland will end four months later at home against the New Jersey Nets.

“Man, it’s insane,” said centre Aaron Gray, a seven-footer who played last season with the New Orleans Hornets.

“We’re doing two-a-days ...
