Quick Hits From A Thunderous Loss

Kyle Lowry landed on Serge Ibaka

After a week that saw the Raptors take a modest step forward in their development, it’s hard not to view Tuesday’s 108-88 road loss to the Thunder as anything less than two steps back. Some quick hits from the second biggest blowout of the night south of the border.

- We’ll get to the result in a second, but the greater concern has to be for point guard Kyle Lowry, who left the game in the second quarter with a right ankle sprain that looked absolutely awful in real time after ...

What To Make Of The Raptors’ Preseason Record?

After a practice Dwane Casey described as just “so-so” on Wednesday, the Raptors head coach wondered aloud if his team’s 5-1 record in exhibition play was a root cause.

“We still have a lot of work to do. We practised today like ‘OK, we’ve arrived and you can already pencil in [playoffs].’ No. We’re nowhere near that.”

At the risk of going all Herm Edwards, you play to win the game and for a team that hasn’t amassed a ton of W’s the last two seasons, positive preseason momentum has more value ...

Bargnani, Davis Limited In Thursday’s Practice

The revolving door of minor preseason injuries continues for the Raptors. In terms of good news, rookie swingman Terrence Ross was a full participant at practice on Thursday after sitting out of Wednesday’s win against the Wizards with a sore left knee.

But gain one healthy body, go down two more as Andrea Bargnani (left calf contusion) and Ed Davis (lower body soreness) were limited in what they could do on Thursday.

Bargnani took a hit from an unidentified Wizard to the same calf that sidelined him for so much of last ...

Lowry Poised To Return Against Wizards

Barring some kind of setback, it appears newly-acquired point guard Kyle Lowry will play in Wednesday’s preseason matchup with the Washington Wizards at ACC (7 PM ET, NBATV Canada).

Lowry has been sidelined with a strained adductor muscle since the end of the team’s training camp in Halifax but after going through the team’s last two practices, seems ready to see his first preseason action. Hear more from Lowry about his imminent return below, plus more from head coach Dwane Casey, who spoke about his new look at point guard and ...
