Roller-Coaster Season Comes To An End For Bargnani

Andrea Bargnani was shut down for the remainder of the season by the Raptors on Friday and according to head coach Dwane Casey, the move simply makes sense when you consider the potential risks with putting him back on court.

“[It's] logical yes, for us as an organization because the injury is still there and the risk versus reward of him continuing to play and injuring it again, possibly tearing it,” Casey said prior to Friday’s game against the Celtics.

Bargnani, who finishes his season with averages of 19.5 points and 5.6 ...

DeRozan Leads The Way On One Freaky Friday

The disparities between the two clubs coming into Friday’s game couldn’t have been more pronounced.

The Celtics hit Toronto as one of the hottest teams in the league with 19 wins in their last 26 games to put them back atop the Atlantic Division and in position to have home court advantage to start the upcoming post-season. The absence of sharpshooter Ray Allen was glaring but certainly mitigated by the insertion of blossoming defensive stopper Avery Bradley into the starting five and the recent incredible play of point guard Rajon ...

Raptors Collapse In Fourth Against Cavaliers

CLE_17_040612

With NBA D-Leaguers occupying most of the depth at the point guard position and both teams featuring some significant NBA talent on the sidelines, it’s difficult to determine just how much stock to put into the Raptors’ 84-80 loss to the Cavaliers on Friday.

But the Raptors did appear to have advantages in terms of remaining talent, home court and momentum heading into Friday’s game, which makes their fourth-quarter collapse an extension of a maddening ability to remain consistently inconsistent.

“A lot of ours [mistakes] were self-inflicted,” Casey said post-game. “Cleveland came ...

Blowout In The City Of Brotherly Love

Odd result on Wednesday as the Raptors extend their win streak to three games for the first time since 2010 following a 99-78 win over the Sixers.

Tale of two halves: It went from a Philadelphia team that I’m still not convinced missed a shot in the first half to one that couldn’t find the ocean with a beach ball down the stretch.

The Sixers went from a team that dropped 31 points in the opening 12 minutes, to one that scored just 22 in final 24, which contributed to a floor ...
