Raptors Move On To Knockout Round At NBA Summer League

What you see above is the result of seeding for the knockout round of the NBA’s inaugural Summer League Championship bracket. Here’s how it shakes out for the Raptors:

- As a result of their 2-1 record through the preliminary round, the Raptors found themselves among the top half of the 22 teams here in Las Vegas.

Raptors Vets Get Together In Las Vegas

We don’t arrive in Las Vegas to cover Summer League action until Friday, but thankfully your social media savvy Raptors are more than willing to keep you in the loop.

It’s informal workouts for vets like DeMar DeRozan, Aaron Gray, Rudy Gay, Kyle Lowry and Amir Johnson, but as you can see for Summer League team memebers like Quincy Acy and Terrence Ross — things are a little more intense.

Latest “Jam Session” Helps Acy Find His Way In April

In a final stretch that has been designated for development of the youngest Raptors, Quincy Acy is beginning to make his mark.

The rugged rookie forward out of Baylor returned from his second stint with NBA D-League’s Bakersfield Jam on March 26th and in April, he’s seen his numbers with the Raptors rise to season-high averages of 6.6 points and three rebounds in just under 17 minutes per game.

It’s a small sample size, but Acy’s teammates have noticed an improved player since his return.

Raptors Mid-Season Report Cards

Forty-one games gone.

Forty-one games to go.

The Raptors are 15-26 and likely will be until they play game number 42 in Miami, Wednesday.

Time for the mid-season report card.

Quincy Acy: 3.1 PPG, 2.10 RPG: Has delighted coaching staff with recent play and provided valuable minutes as team struggles without bigs Bargnani and Valanciunas. Has showed ability to hit 15 footers. Won’t ever rebound like his doppelganger Reggie Evans but will score more. Still miles to go. +C.

Alan Anderson: 12.3 PPG, 2.30 RPG: Excellent defender who can handle guards and forwards. Vocal leader.  ...
