Game Preview: Raptors @ Bobcats

jv_amir600

The Raptors have little time to dwell on Tuesday’s fourth-quarter fade against the Heat, as they hit the road to face the Bobcats at Time Warner Cable Arena tonight (7 PM, Sportsnet, TSN 1050).

Time Warner Cable Arena Has Been Trouble

The Raptors (2-2), aim to avoid consecutive losses for the first time this season and will need to do so in an arena where they’ve had their share of losing lately.

It’s been five straight losses for the Raptors at Time Warner Cable Arena dating back to March 29, 2010. But the ...

TORONTO LeBron James reached his latest milestone in signature style.

James scored a season-high 35 points, Dwyane Wade had 20 and the Miami Heat beat the Toronto Raptors 104-95 on Tuesday for their first road victory in three tries this season.

Ray Allen scored 14 points for Miami, which lost at Philadelphia on Oct. 30 and was beaten 101-100 at Brooklyn on Nov. 1.

James also had a season-high eight rebounds and handed out eight assists as Miami topped 100 points for ...

Game Preview: Raptors vs. Heat

MIA_lowry600

Fresh off ending a ten-game slide against the Bucks, the Raptors try and stop an even longer slump against the Miami Heat tonight at ACC (7 PM, TSN2, TSN 1050).

The Raptors have lost 11 straight meetings against the Heat, representing their longest active losing streak against an opponent. Coincidentally, their last win over the Heat back on Jan. 27, 2010 was actually the last time Toronto was two games over .500.

There’s temptation to see the reigning champs as vulnerable (as they can possibly be) at ACC tonight. Former ...

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Rudy Gay had 18 points and 15rebounds, DeMar DeRozen added 17 points, and the Toronto Raptors spoiled the Milwaukee Bucks’ home opener with a 97-90 victory Saturday night.

After losing a 12-point lead, DeRozen helped Toronto hold on down the stretch. His step-back jumper put the Raptors back up 89-85 with 4 minutes left.

Then after missing two free throws, DeRozen was fouled again after corralling the rebound, making both this time with 2:09 left for a five-point lead.

ATLANTA _ Al Horford had 22 points and 16 rebounds, three other Atlanta starters scored in double figures and the Hawks defeated the Toronto Raptors 102-95 on Friday night to give Mike Budenholzer his first head coaching victory.

Amir Johnson Makes Zombie Walk Return… To Dance

Amir Johnson simply participated in Toronto’s annual Zombie Walk last year. This year he took it up a notch or ten with a full choreographed routine set to Michael Jackson’s Thriller, naturally. Some amazing stuff below from the NBA’s social media MVP.

You may recognize my fellow blogger Kat Stefankiewicz, Foot Locker Raptors Dance Pak coordinator Amberley Waddell and other former members of the RDP adding their talents to the routine.

It certainly beats how Amir was using staff earlier in the week…

Throwback Thursday: The Ghoul ol’ Days

photo-91

‘Happy home opener’ and ‘Happy Halloween’ tend to do a creepy crossover at the kick-off of every Raptors season. High-fiving the Bride of Frankenstein and a Werewolf wearing Raptors gear on the subway post game did happen. I wouldn’t argue his point if a vampire licked his lips of blood and said “Vut? It’s Raptor Red.” And as I take you through some fang-tastic nostalgia, feel free to moan at my witchy wordplay but for your own good, whatever you do, don’t fall asleep. Let’s ...
