Early Morning With Ross And BlackBerry

xxx

BlackBerry became the Official Computing Partner of MLSE earlier this week and the Raptors wanted to help spread the news on Wednesday. Terrence Ross joined Leafs forward Joffrey Lupul live on CP24 Breakfast and Breakfast Television in Toronto to talk about the partnership and give out some tickets to the 2013-14 home opener along the way.

We covered it all with Story Maker on the BlackBerry Z10 and the results are below:

Masai Ujiri: A Few Minutes With The Raptors GM

New Raptors GM and President of Basketball Operations Masai Ujiri has hit the ground running since his hire in early June. Amidst the flurry of activity on the 15th floor at ACC, Ujiri took a few minutes to sit down with me in his office to discuss his start with the Raptors.

Masai Ujiri is the Raptors fifth General Manager.

“I don’t have anything written. I’m going to speak straight from my heart.

“I’m home.”

With those words, Masai Ujiri became the first repatriated Raptors executive.

There have been returning players:  Antonio Davis, Maceo Baston, Tracy Murray, Rasho Nesterovic and Oliver Miller came back for a return engagement, but none of those returned in their prime.

Ujiri is the reigning NBA Executive of the Year thanks to a 57-25 season with the Denver Nuggets. The Nuggets were one of the youngest teams in the NBA and, at 42, Ujiri, like his former club, hasn’t ...

Raptors End Season Strong With 114-90 Victory Over Celtics

rapsceltics041713_9

TORONTO (CP) — The Toronto Raptors prefer to think of this as a beginning rather than an ending.

To be continued next season.

DeMar DeRozan scored 24 points as the Raptors beat the playoff-bound Boston Celtics 114-90 in their season finale Wednesday.

The victory capped a roller-coaster season that saw Toronto stagger out to a horrible 4-19 start but win the seventh of its last eight games to finish 34-48.

“(The strong finish) gives guys some momentum going in (to the off-season), feel good about themselves, understanding why we’re telling them to work on ...

Raptors Win Fifth Straight. Questions Start Now.

The Raptors are anxious to see what they can achieve with Rudy Gay playing a full season.

The Raptors are anxious to see what they can achieve with Rudy Gay playing a full season.

Four and 19.

No matter how you look at, the Raptors disappointing 34-48 season turned on the club’s first 23 games and their inability to win more than four of them.

But there are other numbers as well.

Start with 18-17. That’s the club’s record since they acquired Rudy Gay on January 30.

How about 19.5 points and 6.4 rebounds a game. Those are Gay’s numbers as a Raptor.

There are more. Amir Johnson’s career best 10 points ...
