Game Winner From Gay Lifts Raptors Over Pacers In OT

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – Rudy Gay is making a difference in Toronto, and the Raptors couldn’t be happier with their newest player.

Gay rediscovered his shooting touch in time to score 17 of his 23 points in the fourth quarter and overtime Friday night. He hit a 17-foot jumper with 1.7 seconds left in the extra period to send the Raptors past the Indiana Pacers 100-98.

“He definitely gives our team a lift. He’s a closer, you know?” forward Amir Johnson said. “That’s something we’ve been missing.”

A week ago, Gay was in ...

Amir Johnson: You Shall Know His Virality…

This corner and Raptors fans everywhere know just what an incredible online presence Amir Johnson has. From the Zombie Walk, to Nuit Blanche to I Roll With Amir, there seems to be no end to the friendly forward’s desire to enjoy everything Toronto has to offer.

On Monday, that included heading back to the office but as a fan in the house to see the Toronto Maple Leafs host the Carolina Hurricanes….

The league has taken notice as well. In a recent episode of NBA TV’s “The Jump”, Lang Whitaker caught up ...

ORLANDO, Fla. (CP) — Toronto Raptors coach Dwane Casey believes the next step for his team is to work on developing its identity, preferably one seeded in toughness.

Seven Year Old Star, Slam Dunks and Spelling Lessons.

Picture 15

As I watch the tweets roll in from the team as they depart the city and the six game home stand officially closes, I’m reminded how the capabilities of the interweb these days are such a wonderful thing. It’s a glimpse “past security” into the lives of some of our role models. When you’re wondering what they’re thinking after a game or dabbling in on their day off you can find the answer wrapped into 140 clicks. Especially when the cameras are off!

Here’s my favourite interaction of the week:

The Wrap: Holiday Hitlist, Half Court Shots and a Very Happy Birthday

Picture 2

With the team on the tail end of their west coast swing, the social capabilities of the interweb have been keeping us all in one place, many of us staying up past our bedtime, maybe addicted to the high of the back and forth battles or the fourth quarter rattles. I am. And undoubtedly because the #RTZ crew isn’t going anywhere.

It has been a rock ‘n roll, roadie. After Pops read me the latest Raptors buzz over morning coffee yesterday morning, (post script opinions included), I conquered the ...

DeRozan Leads The Way On One Freaky Friday

The disparities between the two clubs coming into Friday’s game couldn’t have been more pronounced.

The Celtics hit Toronto as one of the hottest teams in the league with 19 wins in their last 26 games to put them back atop the Atlantic Division and in position to have home court advantage to start the upcoming post-season. The absence of sharpshooter Ray Allen was glaring but certainly mitigated by the insertion of blossoming defensive stopper Avery Bradley into the starting five and the recent incredible play of point guard Rajon ...
