From NBA.com: Backed by their strong play on the defensive end, the Toronto Raptors are on the verge of moving seven games over .500 for the first time in six years.

They could reach that mark against the Cleveland Cavaliers, whose offensive struggles began with Toronto ending their longest winning streak in nearly four years.

The Raptors go for their sixth win in seven games as they try to beat the short-handed Cavaliers for the second time in less than a week Tuesday night in Cleveland.

That’s a wrap on a winning weekend for the Raptors and a winning weekend for athletes north of the border. Canadian pride was loud and proud as the Raptors settled six games above .500 for the first time since February 24, 2010. #VictoryBaby

NBA.com Preview | Raptors Game Notes | Magic Game Notes

From NBA.com: Another strong defensive effort helped the Toronto Raptors bounce back from a rare defeat on their home floor.

It wouldn’t seem they should have trouble getting another home win Sunday night against the Orlando Magic, who could be without leading scorer Arron Afflalo and haven’t won a road game in more than two months.

While Atlantic Division-leading Toronto (30-25) has won 11 of 14 at home, the Southeast-worst Magic have lost 14 straight on the road since winning in Chicago on Dec. 16.

A 94-92 loss ...

Throwback Thursday: Air Canada Centre Turns 15

SkyDome General View

There’s no place like home, so the saying goes. By the way fans have been filling up Air Canada Centre this season, they would agree. And by the way the Raptors have been playing at Air Canada Centre this season, (9-3 in 2014) they would agree too.

But on this week in 1999, the Toronto Raptors scuffed up two different so-called ‘home turfs’. Things changed.

On February 19, 1999 the Raptors played their final game at the then named SkyDome, their home since their inaugural season. They wrapped up the era outplaying ...

NBA.com Preview | Raptors Game Notes | Bulls Game Notes

From NBA.com: Joakim Noah and the Chicago Bulls emerge from the All-Star break trying to pick up where they left off.

The Toronto Raptors already have.

Noah and the Bulls are looking for another strong defensive effort in order to continue their recent surge and beat the Raptors on the road again Wednesday night.

Chicago (27-25) has won three in a row and four of five after coasting to a 92-76 home win over Brooklyn on Thursday. That winning streak has been spurred by superb defensive play, as ...
