Throwback Thursday: On Rookie Duties, Pranks & Backpacks

Toronto Raptors v Sacramento Kings

The team has always taken care of them with warm welcomes and gifts to make them feel right at home as they tackle new grounds. To gently ease them into the mighty spotlight of the big bad NBA. ...

Throwback Thursday: T-Mac Looks Back

1997 NBA Draft

The nostalgia of Throwback Thursday; the ‘remember whens’ and good ol’ days. See the game clock drop four zeros and hang a jersey up one last time and it’s the start of the same nostalgic haze.

Here’s proof from a career that started right here in our city and tapped seven other systems along the way.

Recognize this young buck?

Throw back to a few weeks ago: Tracy Lamar McGrady, the Raptors fourth ever draft selection at the age of 18, announced his retirement after 16 years in the court race.

Throwback Thursday: Big Day For Mo Pete

mopete1

Peterson remains one of the best value picks ever by the Raptors at 21st overall in 2000 and quickly became a fan favourite with his clutch 3-point shooting, astounding array of circus shots, dedication to the franchise (remember him kissing the logo at centre court in his return?) and a tremendous work ethic that still sees him hold franchise ...
