Ujiri Celebrates Ten Years With Giants Of Africa

ujiri_goa

Raptors President and General Manager Masai Ujiri saw a labour of love enjoy a milestone on Sunday, as his Giants of Africa foundation celebrated its 10-year anniversary in Toronto.

Giants of Africa has used basketball as a tool to help enrich the lives of African youth with some impressive results over the last decade. Kids involved with the foundation’s Top 50 Camp and Big Man Camp have gone on to play at numerous levels, including American high schools and universities and junior club teams across Europe.

It’s also helped open doors to ...

Game Preview: Raptors vs. Bulls

The Raptors return to ACC tonight for a first look at the Chicago Bulls (7 PM, TSN, TSN 1050). Toronto took two of three matchups against the Eastern Conference contender last season, here are some story lines as the Raptors aim for a third win in four outings overall tonight.

Will Derrick Rose Play?

Adam Fluck of Bulls.com reported Thursday that Derrick Rose missed a second straight day of practice with a sore right hamstring, but the 2011 MVP is hopeful he’ll be ready to go tonight at ACC. ...

Throwback Thursday: Raptors TV Timeouts

mighty mouse

This week called for a road trip and with the team out of the city, the game day routine changes ever so slightly.

Personally, my mighty “to do” list must be checked off before tip-off and a post-gym meal is coming out of the oven as the first bucket drops. Then the tweets begin arriving from the #RTZ Twitter chat about hustling home to make the game as we all settle into our comfy couchside season seats. Popcorn or peanuts?

Part of my shtick at home games is to provide some of ...

Game Preview: Raptors @ Rockets

The Raptors are back on the road for a pair of games against Western Conference contenders, beginning with Dwight Howard, James Harden and the Houston Rockets (8 PM ET, Sportsnet, Sportsnet 590 The FAN).

What to watch in the season series opener between these two teams tonight.

Right Time For Rockets? The Raptors come into this one riding a six-game slide in Houston, but they’re catching the Rockets scuffling a little bit with three losses in their last four after they opened the campaign with three straight wins.

Who’s Healthier In Houston? Both teams are ...

Links: Box Score | Photos | Highlights & Post-Game Reaction

TORONTO (AP) — Long on youthful promise but short on established talent, the Utah Jazz figured they’d take some beatings this season.

They just didn’t know how much it would hurt.

Tyler Hansbrough scored a season-high 23 points, DeMar DeRozan added 18 and the Toronto Raptors snapped a seven-game home losing streak against Utah, routing the winless Jazz 115-91 Saturday night.

“This is not fun,” frustrated Jazz coach Tyrone Corbin said. “I don’t think we showed up with the intensity that we needed ...

Game Preview: Raptors vs. Jazz

UTA_DD_DF576

Is it too early to call tonight’s game against the Utah Jazz at Air Canada Centre a “must win” for the Raptors?

The home side needs a foothold before a tough week ahead and the winless Jazz (0-6) obviously presents an opportunity tonight to end a three-game slide (7 PM ET, TSN2, TSN 1050).

But the Jazz will be starving for a first win and undoubtedly view this as a potential slump buster. History is also on their side, as they’ve won 14 of the last 15 meetings overall and will try for ...
