Game Preview: Raptors vs. Wizards

Don’t look now but the Raptors are suddenly in first place in the Atlantic Division and about to begin their longest homestand of the season, beginning with the Wizards tonight (7 PM ET, TSN2, TSN 1050).

It feels weird because they haven’t been in this position since 2007. It’s weird because their current 5-7 record feels completely earned, but somehow has them in this lofty spot (thanks for the slow start NYC-area teams).

When was the last time a team with a losing record lead any division this many games in? According ...

Raptors Top Wizards To Win Fifth Straight

Washington — This was a timeless victory for the streaking Toronto Raptors. At least it seemed that way on the floor.

“It felt like I was in high school again,” DeMar DeRozan said. “I think we got a shot clock violation — I couldn’t even find the shot clock.”

Playing with an improvised scoreboard, horn, game clock and 24-second clock because of a malfunction in the Verizon Center’s scoring system, the Raptors beat the Washington Wizards 96-88 Tuesday night.

What Is It About Washington?

There’s something about DC that seems to bring on the most bizzarre finishes for the Raptors and Wizards, with last night’s 111-108 OT result providing the last chapter.
